Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, offers a host of solutions to help hoteliers meet guests' evolving expectations. Samsung's Hospitality TV (HTV) range gives hoteliers greater efficiency, flexibility, control and time to dedicate to other aspects of service, while guests enjoy a harmonious relationship with their in-room technology.
Samsung's market-leading LED HDTVs redefine the standards for viewing quality and energy-efficiency. Furthermore, the hotel-specific functions available in the Samsung HTV range, such as seamless channel mixing and SIRCH, provide ideal solutions for hoteliers seeking to minimise cost and maximise functionality, while guests appreciate features like the new Soundbar and quality of the display.
The HTV range prides itself on simplicity and a wealth of features, and consists of the following products and technologies:
Hospitality TV with Soundbar technology
All displays in the Samsung HTV range are at least 720p with the majority offering Full HD capability. To complement the exceptional D6500 displays, Samsung offers a deeper audio experience with the Soundbar technology designed to fit in with today's contemporary décor and lifestyle. A wireless subwoofer can be placed in a discreet location in the room, removing the clutter of extra wires, while enhancing the sound experience. The Soundbar also has an MP3 cradle, allowing the guest to instantly bring their music to life.
Samsung Interactive Remote Control for Hospitality (SIRCH)
The most unique achievements of the Samsung HTV range are the technical intricacies that occur behind the scenes. Samsung has developed Samsung Interactive Remote Control for Hospitality (SIRCH) to give unrivalled customisation for hoteliers. SIRCH allows them to manage TV settings, centrally, and send that information invisibly to every TV in the hotel whether they are switched on, off or on standby. This means that new software, updated channel lists or revised settings are faster to integrate, without needing to inconvenience or disturb guests.
Hotel TVs with seamless channel mixing
Samsung also offers seamless channel mixing, bringing analogue, terrestrial and satellite tuners (including DVB-C, DVB-T and DVB-S2) together on a standalone TV, integrating these services into one single channel list, without having to switch between different tuners. Guests can enjoy the full range of content with a single remote. In addition, all of these solutions can be applied to an entire hotel chain, creating a consistent experience that is of mutual benefit to both guests and hoteliers.
DVB-T standard - T2 support
Samsung understands the financial implications facing hoteliers in today's market and has sought to future-proof the new range of in-room technology to provide peace of mind. The transition from analogue to digital TV services is in various stages of maturity across Europe, but a new terrestrial DVB-T standard called T2 will eventually become the norm. This standard allows the broadcast of HD channels direct to the hotel room. Samsung is already integrating T2 support into its offering, to ensure that hoteliers can future-proof their free-to-air, HD services, and minimise costs. DVB-T2 is only available on the Series 5 580 model.
